We expect car makers to tease us with their wares; it’s our own fault. As online media we’re hungry for news, and teases of forthcoming cars are news. Which is why Lexus teased us with the 2012 GS and why they’re now dragging that out to include the new GS F-Sport and the GS 450h.
Ford confirmed Monday its three-cylinder 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine will arrive next year in the 2014 Ford Fiesta. The unit is expected to achieve an output of about 123 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. The Blue Oval says the engine has a higher specific output than any engine in its stable.

Stop-start tech and a kinetic energy recovery system (which takes the strain off the engine's alternator by using braking to charge up a capacitor) cuts fuel consumption by up to 19% versus the old Superb.
